The effectiveness of the cooperative learning model which is able to improve students' abilities in the material "substance matter and its changes" has been tested and has been effective in increasing students' understanding. Because this material will be easier to understand and understand, if it is practiced or demonstrated.
The purpose of this study was to measure the success rate of science learning for students, especially on the topic of substance and its changes, and to find out students' absorption of this material by using interactive models such as NHT, because in practice this model class demands active student activity, so students can interact actively, and it is hoped that the learning outcomes can meet the minimum learning mastery.

In the first cycle there were 38 students who did not complete or 73.7% did not complete, while only 10 students or 26.3% completed. In the second cycle, it was shown that 34 students or 89.4% completed it, while only 4 students or 10.6% did not complete it.
