ABSTRACT : The concept of wayang golek waringkas is an effort to create a literate society, considering that Indonesia is currently in the last 10th position out of 70 countries in its literacy level. Approaching the culture and cultural habits of the community is considered very important in responding to the problems that are currently happening. So the idea of the Wayang Waringkas concept was born in an effort to create a literate society. With the concept of waringkas puppet show, it is hoped that it will become a new innovation and have a big impact in the community. In addition to being a medium in suppressing the attraction of literacy to the public, the concept of wayang golek waringkas is also a step to preserve the existence of cultural heritage which has been the concern of wayang golek art activists.
